A veto a day keeps the democrats at bay

Last Friday, Governor Paul LePage expressed his frustration over what he called the Legislature’s lack of quick movement on his plan to pay Maine’s hospitals back more than $400 million in MaineCare payments.

At first, the governor said he wouldn’t sign any bill that crossed his desk until lawmakers first sent him the hospital bill.  He then backed away from that statement, but not his level of frustration.

Additionally, Governor LePage has nominated former Representative Jonathan McKane to serve on the Dirigo board, even though he has publically expressed deep concerns about the program.
