Tax increases or no tax increases?

Late last week, a republican state senator suggested that maybe the State should look into taxing large non-profit agencies — such as hospitals and colleges — as a way to increase revenue and close the state budget gap. Within 24 hours the Senator and his party were backing away from that idea. So how will they close the budget hole? Phil and Ethan discuss.

Additionally, the Governor has now said he won’t support expanding Medicare unless the legislature first deals with 3,100 people on a waiting list for services. Is this a legit issue or a red herring?
