Will Republicans hold up under the pressure?

After a long struggle over finding money and balancing a budget, now lawmakers in Augusta are working on finding support to get the package passed.

Political analyst Ethan Strimling (D) and guest analyst and former state Senator and Secretary of State Charlie Summers (R) weigh in on the process of wrangling votes and what will happen if the governor vetoes the budget as promised.

They also weigh in on a national trend that’s come to Maine – an advertisement about that very budget. This one is from the group Maine People Before Politics, which formed out of Governor LePage’s transitional team.

Plus a measure to legalize recreational marijuana use for adults recently failed the Senate and House – but the House vote was pretty close. Strimling and Summers opine about whether this is a sign of things to come.
