Collins surpasses $5 Million. Is it over for Bellows?

According to a source close to the campaign, Sen. Susan Collins will be reporting that she has raised over $5 million dollars for her re-election campaign. That means in the last six weeks she will have raised almost $75,000 a week, or over $10,000 a day.

Compare this with email fundraising reports from Shenna Bellows campaign, in which she is pleading with donors to help her get over $1 million, and you can see how lopsided this race is becoming.

Unless Bellows begins to gather momentum with fundraising and issues, the U.S. Senate race could be over before it begins.

Specifics on Collins report should be out tomorrow.
